Where are you from?
Philly. North Philly. I’ve lived in North Philly all of my life. Growing up I lived in different parts of Philly, but most of the time in North.
What’s a movie you can practically quote from start to finish?
I’m a movie lover, so that’s a hard question. I can quote a lot of movies. I would have to pick All About the Benjamins. The phrases stick with you. It sticks with me when I am joking around.
What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
The 1st iPhone. I stood in line for what seemed like days! Who didn’t want an iPhone at the time? I paid exactly $658.17 for it. I actually waited for maybe 4-5 hours with some friends. The iPhone was the coolest thing in the world back then.
Seen anything lately that made you smile?
My daughter. She is in 2nd grade. I saw her engaged in her homework without needing any help. That really made me happy to see.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?
An older man told me:
“The secret to a successful future is hidden in your daily routine”.
You can really take it in so many different ways. You can add or take away things in your daily routine to get you to the success you want. Our daily routine doesn’t seem important, but it is in the end.
What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
My grandma’s cooking..straight like that! You can’t go wrong with grandma’s cooking! I love everything she cooks.
What motivates you to work hard?
Seeing my daughter’s dreams and goals come true. My job is done if that happens. Also, knowing life is too short to not be motivated. Life is too short to just sit there. I am a very self-motivated person, so I don’t need a lot to motivate me to keep going every day.
You have your own late night talk show, who do you invite as your first guest?
I would definitely pick Barack Obama! The first thing I would ask him is how it is to be the 1st black President of the United States. I would ask him to reflect back on his 8 years as President, and on life since he left. The 2nd person would be Jay-Z.
What advice would you give your teenage self?
I would tell myself to invest in real estate and commercial properties. I would be able to set myself up for a very lucrative future. I still want to get into real estate, so it is one of my goals for the next few years.
What’s something you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before?
I would love to take my daughter to Disney World. I have never been there. I want her to experience things I haven’t experienced before. The 1st thing I would do is buy a pair of those outrageous mickey ears.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
I want to go to Egypt. Growing up schools didn’t teach us that Egypt is in Africa. Many people think it’s somewhere else. People just don’t think it would be in Africa. I really do want to see the pyramids in person. They seem like they would be amazing. I do want to visit many other countries in Africa too.
What fictional family would you be a member of?
I would want to be a part of the Martin show family/friends. Martin Lawrence has always been hilarious. Who wouldn’t want to laugh all the time? No matter how old the show gets, the show has still been funny and you can still laugh at Martin.
My favorite episode is when Martin refused to pay the rent increase, so the landlord shut off the heat during a blizzard and they had no food. When Cole came back from getting the pizza he was frozen at the door. What did hustle man try to sell them? I think it was ducks or something? No! It was roasted pigeons on a stick hahaha
How do you define success?
Health and wealth…Bill Gates wealthy. I want total physical health and to be financially good. If I have both, then I am successful in my opinion.
Goals for 2019?
The main goal is to invest in myself. Investing in my health, finances, mental state, and body. People don’t really do that anymore. You should really have one main goal that really gets most or all of your focus and time. You can’t really have too many goals at one time. They can’t all get the same time or attention that they need.
