March 19, 2019
Our employees are what truly make Printfly a diverse and unique place to work. We have an extremely talented team of creative individuals who have a passion for what they do and we are proud to showcase them. Jason Cao has been at Printfly since May 2015. He started as a Quality Guarantee rep and is now the Quality Guarantee Lead.
Where are you from?
I was originally born in Wenzhaou, China, but I moved here when I was 3 or 4 years old.
How did you start working at Printfly?
I actually found this job online. After I started, I found that it is convenient to home, comfortable, casual and I like my hours. Plus I needed more money, but I have been here this long. I wouldn’t still be around if it sucked ha!
If you could do another job for one day, what would it be?
I would be one of those people that travel the world, try different foods and find hotspots. Kinda like Anthony Bourdain or the guy from Bizarre Foods. Also, RIP Anthony Bourdain. I’d be a travel vlogger/blogger, or I would have my own tv show.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Learn an additional language. I already speak Chinese, English and terrible French. I think I would learn either German or Korean. I know very little Korean, and I barely know enough Chinese to get by.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
I would definitely go to South Korea. I love to travel but, it’s never been good timing. Pricing is always a problem too. I’m always looking for a great price. South Korea is one of the most expensive countries in Asia. I would love to go to South Korea, because it’s one of the main Asian countries. I’ve already been to China and Japan, so South Korea is on my travel bucket list.
Which four individuals, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most?
First, it would be Leonardo da Vinci, because of what he’s done. He’s a painter and an inventor. Second is Ben Franklin. He’s done a lot of different things. He was an inventor and a leader. I’d love to pick his brain. Third? Hmmm, I feel like I’m picking all dead people. Ok, third is Kobe Bryant. The way he has such intensity on the court, and I grew up watching him. I should say that Lebron is a more rounded player. The last person is Wang Lee Hom. He is one of the first Chinese Artists I started listening to. He got me more into cultural music. He does a lot of different types of music, from traditional to modern.
You’re happiest when…?
Sleeping or eating. Food is delicious. Sometimes you just want a big mac or a 20 piece chicken nugget. Sorry, I’m lazy. I want to be a foodie.
If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?
I would love to fly. There’s freedom in flying. I could travel anywhere. I’d travel to a nice tropical island. Maybe Hawaii or an Asian Island, since it’s cold.
Who is your least favorite superhero?
Ant-Man. He turns small and shrinks himself…THAT’S STUPID. How often would you even need to do that? It’s stupid. Give me Batman any day.
What is your favorite thing to do?
Finding a new place to go. I like finding places that I didn’t know about before. I like to naturally find them, and just stumbling upon them. Like a hole in the wall, dive bar or anything cool and new. Just walk around getting those steps in.
If you could be any animal, which would it be?
I would want to be a Koala? Do they just sleep and eat?
Yes, and they scream really loud. It’s actually hilarious. Look it up.
Ok good! I love to sleep and eat. People do tell me that I’m loud, and they’re loud. They’re my spirit animal!
Top three life highlights?
1. Going to college. I am the 1st to graduate from college in my immediate and extended family because they moved here from China.
2. Climbing Mount Fuji. We actually stayed overnight. I thought I was gonna die! We were so unprepared! We had too much water and not enough food.
Plus it had a horrible altitude too.
3. Buying my current car (BMW). Coming out of college I didn’t know if I could do it. I was able to work hard to pay off my student loans and buy my car after. Also, THIS IS NOT A FLEX!
What are your goals for 2019?
I’m definitely eating better, that’s for sure. I say that every year. I think this is finally the year. Also, I would love to travel at least twice out of the country. I’ll get those stamps in my Passport.
