It’s Time To Talk About Gritty…

On September 24, 2018 a star was born…

Well, maybe not born – but resurfaced from under Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center due to building renovations that disturbed his secret hideout, forcing him to come out and make himself known to not only Philadelphia, but the world.

If you don’t know who we’re talking about by now, maybe you’ve also been stuck under the Wells Fargo Center.

Of course, we’re talking about Gritty, the Philadelphia Flyers new Mascot who’s taken the city of Philadelphia and internet by storm over the last two weeks.

You’d think the buzz would die down sooner than later, but Gritty has found himself on local and national news stations, late night talk shows, and even reviewing pizza with the popular internet sports blog, Barstool Sports.

Being that RushOrderTees.com is a Philadelphia based company and avid Philadelphia Flyers supporters, we are definitely fans of Gritty. We’re not here to poke fun at our new mascot, but we do think we can offer him some pointers when it comes to handling a t-shirt cannon.

First days are hard.. also, ice is very slippery.

Gritty had trouble handling a t-shirt cannon during his debut appearance at the Flyers preseason game. He fell flat on his back when firing a t-shirt in to the crowd. To his credit, he was on ice and the t-shirt did fire – unlike Chip the Buffalo who arguably was dealt a more painful fate when trying to shoot his tee cannon.

Like I said, we’re not here to bash either mascot but we have a long history with t-shirt cannons. A few years back, we were launching them during the 104.5 Birthday Festival in front of thousands of screaming people. Much like our artists and printers – we’re experts when it comes to t-shirt cannons. It’s a key part of the business.

So consider this an open invitation to mascots from any sports team:

If you want to shoot a t-shirt cannon, let us give you some pointers before you go viral online with a t-shirt cannon fail.

At RushOrderTees, we’re printing experts AND t-shirt cannon experts.
