Want a one of a kind experience where you can express yourself, exercise and have fun? You’ve done the mud runs, now it is time to add a little color to the mix. This color will allow you to feel, taste and be a rainbow. Throughout the country people have the opportunity to participate in an event called “The Color Run.” The Color Run is in a different city each weekend throughout the United States and tickets for the event tend to sell rather quickly. However, many hesitate when purchasing tickets for this one-of-a-kind event. Runners either find themselves wanting to preserve the color or wanting to wash it out as soon as possible. This is especially true when wearing their very own custom tees with their teams name, logo or their names printed on them.
The nontoxic and essentially harmless colored cornstarch coloring does mostly wash out afterwards. The sooner you wash it the better and easier the coloring disappears. In a few days your skin will be back to its natural color. As for your tees, you can wash the color right out of it in the wash, if you wish. If you would like to preserve and commemorate the experience the color in your running shirt, spray it with vinegar and iron it before you wash it.
You then get to run or walk together and “help” each other get really colored up over the five color kilometers. The run is not timed, and several people of all shapes, sizes and ages walk or run the course. Each run benefits local nonprofits. There is no “relay” component and team members can finish together as a unit or separately. Each kilometer is marked by a designated color. First kilometer completed you’re in a yellow cloud of color. The second kilometer is then blue, third is green, the fourth is pink, and then the grand finale and the finish line which is known as the “Color Extravaganza.” Color Runs are being held at locations all around the country. If you want to have a good workout and want an excuse to feel like a human coloring book and paint a portrait.
